Conjecture 56 is an independent data science laboratory.
The name is a nod to the conjecture that founded Artificial Intelligence as a field at that 1956 conference. In his proposal, John McCarthy wrote:
“To proceed on the basis of the conjecture that every aspect of learning or any other feature of intelligence can in principle be so precisely described that a machine can be made to simulate it.”
